Elaine Zane is a senior vice president and Chief Compliance Officer for Research Affiliates, working on the firm’s legal and compliance matters.

Prior to joining Research Affiliates, Elaine was an attorney consultant in the Alternatives Compliance group at PIMCO in Newport Beach, California, where she focused on private equity transactions and all aspects of private fund compliance.  Before PIMCO, Elaine served as associate compliance counsel at Canyon Partners in Los Angeles, California. At Canyon, she worked on legal and compliance matters for the firm’s registered investment adviser and helped to launch Canyon’s first registered fund.

Elaine received her BA in international development studies, with a minor in Chinese, from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her JD from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.
