Joey Castillo leads all marketing activities globally, including media (press) relations. Some of his responsibilities include product messaging, digital strategy, and affiliate marketing for the RAFI smart beta, asset allocation, active equity, and global macro strategies.
Prior to joining Research Affiliates, Joey was vice president and Head of US Institutional Marketing Strategy at BlackRock, where he led global initiatives for financial institutions, and multi-asset and smart beta/factor investing strategies. He also has experience marketing to DC plans, pensions, endowments, foundations, family offices, and institutional consultants.
Joey received his BS in business administration from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, where he graduated magna cum laude and valedictorian. He holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School, where he was editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper, The Harbus.
