Creative Director/Design Manager

 

The Marketing group is looking for someone to build and guide Research Affiliates’ (and sister company RAFI Indices) creative output across digital, motion, and print. Responsible for managing creative projects from ideation to production while working with key project owners and stakeholders. Establish procedures and structure to the creative process that enable productivity. Identify new opportunities for design to better serve our internal and external partners - balancing and reconciling multiple and sometimes conflicting requirements. The ideal candidate will bring original ideas, ownership, and entrepreneurial spirit to our highly collaborative and culture-driven work environment.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identify, present, and lead creative efforts supporting Research Affiliates’ current brand experience across our website, interactive tools, events, design resources, motion content, presentations, research papers, and data visualizations.
  • Own and build-out the creative agenda and how the creative process lives and operates day-to-day at Research Affiliates.
  • Identify design problems across the company and devise solutions, working collaboratively and cross-functionally throughout the design process.
  • Guide the design of mobile, desktop, and device specific experiences that are delightful and engaging.
  • Deliver immersive video and animation content supporting the company’s research and original content, including webinars, interviews, talks, and culture showcases. Includes the scheduling of production shoots and managing of third-party vendors.
  • Present creative concepts to senior management and leadership.
  • Gather and incorporate requirements and feedback from multiple stakeholders.
  • Participate in the authoring of new website and email content.

 

Education and Experience

  • Design advocate and passionate human-centered problem-solver. You believe the creative process is one of collaborative problem solving. Identifying and aligning to the problem is as important as solving it.
  • Multidisciplinary, excited to be the lead across the full spectrum of design, including but not limited to Graphic Design, Brand Design, Motion Design, Event Design, and Interaction and Experience Design.
  • Candidates with an understanding of HTML, CSS, and Adobe Experience Manager are at an advantage.
  • Comfortable working within a subject matter you may not fully understand (i.e., finance), and unafraid to ask questions that help you move forward.
  • Strong communicator who loves working with others to guide them through the creative process. A capable art director who understands the language of Design.
  • Service design driven, always ready to get involved, participate, and contribute.
  • Not above helping with the small tasks like image formatting.
