Newport Beach, California (November 6, 2017) - Research Affiliates, LLC, announced today that Duke University Professor Campbell Harvey, PhD, joined the firm in October 2017, as a partner and senior advisor. Dr. Harvey’s primary focus will be on strategic research, product development, and thought leadership. Concurrently, he will serve as a senior external spokesperson and act as an advisor to the Office of the Chair for key initiatives. Dr. Harvey will work from the firm’s Newport Beach, California, headquarters as well as remotely.

In both 2015 and 2016, Dr. Harvey received the Bernstein Fabozzi/Jacobs Levy Award for Best Article for his research on distinguishing luck from skill. He has also received eight Graham and Dodd Awards/Scrolls for excellence in research and financial writing, as well as the James R. Vertin Award from the CFA Institute Research Foundation in 2007. He has published over 125 scholarly articles on topics spanning investment finance, emerging markets, corporate finance, behavioral finance, financial econometrics, and computer science. On his own, Dr. Harvey nearly doubles the Research Affiliates total for Graham and Dodd Awards/Scrolls and refereed articles.

Dr. Harvey, PhD, received his undergraduate degree in economics and political science from Trinity College at the University of Toronto and his MBA from York University in Toronto in 1983. His doctoral work was carried out at the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
Dr. Harvey retains his affiliations with the National Bureau of Economic Research as well as Man Group.
