Omid Shakernia focuses on innovative research and contributes to the firm’s research publications. He is responsible for quantitative research and development in the areas of signal generation, optimization, and portfolio construction across the multi-asset strategies of Research Affiliates.

Prior to joining Research Affiliates, Omid was a senior technical specialist at Northrop Grumman, where he conducted research and technology development for unmanned vehicles.

Omid received his Master of Financial Engineering from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. He received his BS, MS, and PhD degrees in electrical engineering and computer sciences from the University of California, Berkeley.
