KATRINA F. SHERRERD, Ph.D., CFA
Chief Operating Officer

Dr. Katrina Sherrerd is responsible for the firm's day-to-day operations and business development, including administration, operations, marketing, and affiliate relations. In addition to her operational responsibilities, Katy helps to ensure that the firm's focus remains consistent with its core mission—focusing on cutting-edge research and product development, and then affiliating with other firms to bring these ideas to investors.

Throughout her professional career, Katy has been dedicated to advancing innovative thinking, leading edge research, and continuing education for the benefit of investment professionals around the world. As a managing director at CFA Institute, she led the research and education effort, including oversight of the Financial Analysts Journal. Katy also served as executive director and member of the Board of Trustees of the Research Foundation of CFA Institute and led the strategic planning effort for CFA Institute and the Research Foundation.

Prior to joining Research Affiliates, she was vice chair of the Investment Advisory Committee for the Virginia Retirement System. Katy currently serves on the board of the Institute for Quantitative Research in Finance and Junior Achievement of Orange County. She was also a visiting professor at the Darden School, University of Virginia, and a lecturer at the McIntire School of Commerce  at the University of Virginia.

Katy received her BS in finance from the UVa’s McIntire School, an MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in finance from the Darden School at UVa.
