PETER BERNSTEIN
Peter L. Bernstein is the President of Peter L. Bernstein, Inc., economic consultants
to institutional investors and corporations. He writes analyses of the
capital markets and real economy for his firm’s semi-monthly publication Economics
and Portfolio Strategy. Previously Mr. Bernstein taught economics
at Williams College and the New School and worked in commercial banking. He was
the first editor and is currently a consulting editor of the Journal of Portfolio
Management. Mr. Bernstein is the author of nine books and many articles,
including Against the Gods: The Incredible Story of Risk and Capital
Ideas: The Improbably Origins of Modern Wall Street. His latest book
is Wedding of the Waters: The Erie Canal and the Making of a Great
Nation. He is a recipient of the CFA Institute Award for Professional Excellence,
Graham and Dodd Award of Excellence, and James R. Vertin Award, which recognizes
individuals who have produced a body of research notable for its relevance and
enduring value to investment professionals. Mr. Bernstein is a graduate
of Harvard University.
